Sri Vijaya Amaleswari Devi Temple
History

The history of Sri Vijaya Amaleswari Devi Temple begins with the goddess revealing herself to her devotee Errappa in 1832. Errappa and his family, traveling in distress, were guided by the goddess who appeared invisibly as earthen objects (gurivelu), bangles, and cowries in his blanket. They settled in Davojipalem, named after Davoji who permitted them to cultivate the land. Errappa's descendants continued worshipping the goddess. Initially, worship occurred in a hut, then a tiled house where her symbols were kept. The name changed to Vijaya Amaleswari Devi after the temple's construction to signify success for her devotees. Daily pujas were performed by the family until the current temple was built, around the year 2004 when the old tiled house became dilapidated. Sri Vijaya Amaleswari Devi is Ankem vari ilavelpu.
